I would like to submit the following agenda correspondence in case I'm not able to call in. Correspondence follows: *** Fellow commissioners, I am unsure if I'll be able to attend tonight's meeting. As such, I am writing to voice my support for SLO Forward, and increasing our city's sales tax revenues. In reviewing sales tax rates around the state, I am disappointed to see that SLO receives less sales tax revenues than most California cities, especially comparable cities along the coast. I am generally confident in how our city is currently spending Measure G monies, and am confident that SLO would become a better place if we are able to bring our sales tax revenues more in-line with other cities via SLO Forward, as long as our current policy and funding priorities continue in a similar fashion moving forward. One other thing I would like to request regarding tonight's meeting: in light of current events, I would recommend that we ask ourselves the question "How do these spending priorities extend the benefits included in Measure G's ballot ' language to marginalized communities in San Luis Obispo?" when we are evaluating spending priorities, and that we carefully consider using the answer to that question to evaluate whether we are extending the benefits of Measure G's ballot language (and SLO Forward)to only certain kinds of SLO citizens, or truly to all. Thank you, Ken Kienow ,....„.-.. On Mon,Jun 29, 2020 at 7:20 PM Ken .com>wrote: Thanks Ryan. I think I won't be able to make tomorrow unfortunately. Sorry about that. We certainly will miss you if you can't make it and with such an important topic, but completely understand if you can't.
