Last month, the log-in process was so circuitous that Derek Johnson had his tech guy call me and that guy agreed that the process was opaque and unfair and he promised to fix it. Well, as far as I can tell, it hasn’t been fixed. I followed all the steps tonight and, at the very end, the message said that I was in “listen-only” mode. I don’t see how “listen-only” gives me a chance for input. This city’s Council has gone on record as wishing to deny citizen input: recall that, in one of her earliest actions as Mayor, Ms. Harmon urged that Public Comment at Council meetings be reduced in length. Good to see that city employees are following the Mayor’s wishes to limit citizen input. This is an outrage; fortunately, tonight’s meeting was cancelled, else I would have been limited to listening-only. I can’t believe that this “University City” is so unfair to its citizens; I’m betting that, were I Hamish Marshall or Rob Rossi, the city would listen to me. No wonder so many people are in the streets protesting. This city deserves it. Will Powers, Ph.D C: Derek Johnson Christine Dietrick Council Members 1
