Subject: IWMA Public Records Request
Good Morning Tera,
I hope you are well! I've sent the below email to all of our County cities. I'm hoping you can help me gather some
information. I'd be surprised if we had any records, but, I'd still like to see.
Take care and be safe!
am seeking information on your departments records on warnings and/or citations issued for several Integrated Waste
Management Authority (IWMA) ordinances that have been adopted over the years.
I am specifically looking for the number of violations/citations either by warnings or citations issued for these violations.
I am hoping to find information that his been captured since the inception of each ordinance, or timeline you are able to
provide based on your search capabilities.
Please let me know if this information is available or if you need anything to help clarify the search.
The San Luis Obispo County Integrated Waste Management Authority ordinances are as follows and each of your
agencies are allowed to enforce these as part of the JPA agreement with the SLO County cities and unincorporated
county areas.

RE: Hazardous Materials Inspection Form
Home Depot Store #1052
1551 Froom Ranch Rd.
San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Dear Mr. Boyle:
This letter is being provided on behalf of The Home Depot U.S.A., Inc.'s San Luis Obispo Store #1052 ("The
Home Depot") and in response to the Hazardous Materials Inspection Form issued on November 19, 2018. The
Home Depot has reviewed the form and provides the following information in response to the alleged violation:
Please refrain from telling the public that the SLO City Fire Marshal directed Home Depot to not
accept fluorescent light tubes. This is not accurate or correct.
RESPONSE: Store #1052 has been reminded it is required to take back fluorescent light tubes from
household customers. Store management has set up a collection container and will ensure returned
tubes are properly managed. A photograph showing the labeled collection box is enclosed for your
review.
With the transmittal of this letter, it is our understanding that the alleged conditions associated with the item
listed above have been resolved. If this is not correct, or if you have any questions, please contact me at (770)
433-8211 ext. 82714.
Sincerely,
Michelle A. O'Brien, CHMM
