Dear Planning Commissioners,
When I have been in conversations regarding the Life Plan Community Villaggio, most people focus on the benefit of
adding senior housing and much needed health care facilities to our county.
While that is top of mind for all of us, it is also true that the future residents will be an asset to San Luis Obispo. The list
of members provides strong evidence of that. Many are familiar names for their years of participation in service
organizations and volunteer efforts in local nonprofits. They will continue to contribute in the years ahead as part of
maintaining an active lifestyle in their retirement.
As longtime supporters of the arts, our members will continue enjoying all our county has to offer. We look forward to
regular planned group outings. Attending concerts, plays, and other community events in a Villaggio bus will be a
pleasant experience, safer and more convenient than driving, especially at night.
Without Villaggio, many of our members will decide to leave San Luis Obispo county. What a loss that would be. With
Villaggio, the current members can retain their service commitments and local support roles--as will the coming
generations of seniors who will one day call Villaggio home.
I appreciate your consideration of the Froom Ranch project. Having attended an advisory committee meeting and a
Planning Commissionmeeting regarding Villaggio last December, I know you take your responsibilities seriously. Thank
you for allowing my voice to be heard,
Sherry Eiselen
