Subject:Endorsement of Item #8 - Multi-Space Pay Stations
Dear Mayor Harmon and Council Members,
As a member of the Downtown SLO Parking and Access Committee, I am writing in support of Item #8 on
tonight's agenda: Purchase of Multi-Space Pay Stations for On-Street Parking Management.
Efficient and fair parking tools and practices are critical to an active and successful downtown. Our parking
services department staff are doing an incredible job right now, flexing to the needs of downtown, offering free
parking in the garages and gradually bringing back paid parking as we open up and more people visit and
enjoy downtown. This despite dealing with old technology in many locations. With new tools, such as multi-
space pay stations, we can join the 21st century, free up sidewalk space and provide even more flexible,
efficient parking options as we grow, while maintaining a friendly, open downtown for residents and visitors
alike.
I support Downtown SLO and I support Parking Services on this item. Thank you for your time and
consideration.
Sincerely,
Patty Thayer
