Subject:New Development @ 1144 Chorro Street
How can you consider building this development ? The people here don't want this kind of hulking
eye sore in the center of downtown. W didn't want some of the other projects that have changed the
look of the downtown, but we got them anyway. The residential housing will never be affordable for
average working people. Where would they park anyway?
This is a money grabbing scheme by people from another state who don't care a whit about our town
or state.
You need to be more pro active on the use of the vacant property at 1144 Chorro St. How about
parking underground ? Chorro is a very narrow street with little parking and large fig trees (that were
the wrong choice initially and need replacing). We don't need more commercial space with many of
the old businesses closing and leaving vacant storefronts.
I have a perspective on this subject after living here and the county on and off for about 50
years. Please seriously consider what you do with your power to make decisions.
