Subject:Jamestown Project at 1144 Chorro Street...
Dear Council members and Mayor...
Just a reference to the median income...."A minimum of 13 designated homes will be set
aside as affordable housing in the moderate-income household range,
meaning people whose incomes “exceed 80% percent but are less than or
equal to 120% of the median income within the county.”...As you know,
that means 50% of our population falls below that mandate set by
Jamestown...
Approval of this project and not fighting for units(and more than 13...) that
are affordable by the lower 50% demonstrates a bias at to who is wanted at
this property...
Look at the outside...Heaven forbid, the working class who makes an
average of $50,000 could be present and living there...The upper 50%
would be distressed at allowing those who need assistance access.....These
are the teachers, staff at businesses...all outstanding citizens but because
they earn less than the entrance income, they don't even make the grade to
rent a 318 square foot studio....
SERIOUSLY...THIS IS NOT AFFORDABLE HOUSING.....
You all know better....Not a good decision at all...
