HomeMy WebLinkAbout9/1/2020 Item 8, Weintraub -- Received after deadline Wilbanks, Megan From:Jeremy Weintraub < To:E-mail Council Website Subject:1137 Peach Street Hello, I'm writing this in a last-ditch effort to have the proposed townhome development at 1137 Peach Street reconsidered. I virtually attended the two previous meetings on the project and voiced my concerns but they were dismissed rather than addressed. I live at 762 Toro Street, directly across the street from the entrance to the 10 bedroom complex that's under consideration. I'm worried about what 10 extra cars on Toro Street will mean for this residential street, what the increase in residents will mean for the 100-year old sewer system, and what the hybrid design will do to the beauty of this old part of town. I'm very much in favor of building low-income housing in our increasingly expensive town, yet this project looks to serve the needs solely of the developer and the well-off. This large vacant space is an opportunity for at least two things that SLO would greatly benefit from: more green space/public parks, and low-cost housing, not just another expensive plain-vanilla housing complex. Best wishes, Jeremy 1
