Since 2010, Ecologistics has been convening groups of dedicated, caring people
and activists to learn about and discuss creative solutions to the most pressing social
justice and environmental issues of our time. Over the years we have hosted many
events including Central Coast Bioneers Conferences, the Deep Ecology
Collaboratory, the Salinas River Symposium, the Carrizo Colloquium, EmpowerSLO
activism training, the Extreme Green Car Show, the SLO Down Cancer Concert and
the Critical Conversation Series. We began the Dreaming the Salinas Initiative in 2011
that is working toward establishing a watershed management plan for the Salinas
River. Beginning in 2013 as part of its Incubating Activism program, Ecologistics
began providing fiscal sponsorship support to organizations who align with our
corporate purpose.
R.A.C.E. Matters was approved for sponsorship in 2017. R.A.C.E. Matters
mission is to build an actively anti-racist Central Coast through dialogue, cultural
programming, and educational initiatives that amplify the voices of Black and other
people of color --a purpose that is in direct alignment with Ecologistics ' mission to
promote socially responsible ?and? just institutions. This project will support our goals
and the goals of R.A.C.E. Matters by ?celebrating local Black voices, other voices of
color, and inviting all City and County community members to confront, ponder, and
brainstorm how to make SLO City and County more inclusive of and welcoming to
people of color and other under-represented groups.

A sustainable community is an inclusive community. BELONGING fosters
sustainability by amplifying the voices of residents that are not typically heard and

that embraces difference and empowers all members to participate. Our events
maximize the potential of people and resources contained locally within SLO
County--for example, recruiting and uplifting local businesses and locally-sourced
products that range from food and wine to works of art. The program thus combines
imperatives for social and environmental justice in service of a more sustainable future.
15.Describe how the organization will encourage inclusive participation from diverse populations.
(Word Limit: 100 max and bulleted list is acceptable.)
BELONGING will maximize accessibility and inclusivity in all aspects of event

as low-income and other marginalized communities, beginning our outreach with a
focus on these groups and offering them priority registration for events. Subsequent
outreach will be to the general public. Most events will be cost-free, with 1-2 events
$10 or less and discounts available for income-sensitive attendees. Events occur
in/near downtown and accessible via major routes of public transit. Multiple event
