Hi Planning Committee,
I hope you all had a good weekend! I just wanted to share my concern over the proposed access via Lucca lane for the
affordable housing plan within the toscano development. My concern is for the safety of pedestrians, some being young
children, who frequently utilize this small lane with blind corners. There are no sidewalks on this lane. To access
sidewalks on the main roads, the only access is to walk in the lane itself. The other day my two year old daughter took
off running down the lane (to “go see horseys” in the neighborhood) while I had my back turned to put my infant in the
car. It only took seconds for her to run from our driveway and past the blind corner into Lucca lane. Had a car been
coming, they would not have had time to react due to the blind corner. My concern is for the safety of the children who
live on these streets as the number of vehicles using this road will increase significantly. There are no speed bumps, no
sidewalks, and several blind turnouts. I am concerned it may only be a matter of time before a child is injured on this
street if no improvements are made to the access point or an alternate route designed. I ask, as a mom of two young
children, please consider the safety of children in the planning of the use of Lucca Lane as an access point for the
affordable housing. Thank you so so much!
Julia, and my kiddos Harper (2 years) and Jack (6 months)
