Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force Public Comment for items not on the agenda 3 minutes per person, please Not to exceed 15 minutes total Review and Follow Up from Sept 10 Meeting ITEM 1 Member Check In Task Force Members: Amman, Dusty, Erica, Jenell, Katherine, Michael, Matthew, Maxine, Oscar, Noha, Renoda, Vanessa Name / Pronouns Check in: What’s one “top of mind” thought since our 1st meeting? ITEM 1 Community Agreements •Strive for intellectual/cultural humility. Give each other grace. •Participating fully can look different for everyone. •Lean into discomfort. Challenge by choice. •Pop the bubble and break down concepts (i.e. Ask questions). •Practice gender expansive language. •Recognize how your identity informs your perspective. •Acknowledge intent. Prioritize Impact. •Challenge the idea not the person. +Member Additions: •Be present as much as possible. •Focus on solutions. •Assume positive intent. •Celebration of the differences. •Be open to unlearning. •Accepting there is a lot of pain, which could equate to emotional conversations, which is okay. The DE&I Grants Notice of Funds Available (NOFA) released today (yay!) Application online, or hard copy Notices in Spanish; assistance in Spanish available Please broadcast the NOFA far and wide Applications accepted Sept 17 –Oct 22 Task Force Review, Oct 23 –Nov 5 More details forthcoming Tell Dale if your group(s) apply / as you know of any conflicts of interest The review process -exploring use of subcommittees (everyone still involved but able to give more time to review/deliberation) More to come!
