The last city survey revealed 65%of residents desire protected paths. Painted stripes on neighborhood streets or Boulevards will not increase bike commutes. The "quick build" solution providing the greatest increase to bike trips is to open Bullock Lane.The new trail at Righetti Ranch ends on a public right of way: Bullock Lane. Why is this closed?This trail parallels 2 major high stress collectors: Broad Street and Johnson Ave. With all due respect, is anyone asking this question. Why is Bullock Lane closed?This was part of the original RR Trail plan; use of low traffic Bullock Lane to allow access to the trail from Orcutt Road extending up behind Sinsheimer Park to Jennifer Street bridge and bike boulevard leading downtown. Close this gap. And focus on other areas allowing safe routes to schools.
