Dear Council Members,
I strongly object to raising the city manager and attorney compensation.
These two officials are already among the highest earners in town, and it is ungracious of them to ask for and indecent of
you to acquiesce in raising their pay even more while so many of your constituents are suffering economically. Neither of
these officials is in any way suffering from inadequate compensation.
Also, those of us skeptical of what the city would do with Measure G funds predicted higher salaries and pensions (which
track salaries) would be a primary use. And here, just a month after the election, you prove that we were right -- that the
list of priorities on the ballot were more election propaganda than indicative of honest intent.
