Dear City Council and Planning Commission,
I am writing to express my support for the Active Transportation Plan. The Tier 1 protected bike lane projects will help
SLO to meet our 20% mode shift by encouraging people who are not already regular bike riders to venture out by
bike. SLO is on a roll and the completion of the Tier 1 protected bike lane projects will fill in the gaps, address problem
areas, and improve safety on the major bike routes that are well used, but feel super scary.
Getting people out of their cars and traveling on foot and by bike is crucial to meeting our climate action, mode shift,
vision zero, equity, diversity, and inclusivity goals!
Please support the Active Transportation Plan as recommended by the Active Transportation Committee without major
revisions.
I want to see these Tier 1 projects considered in the FY21-23 budget cycle without delay so that we can continue progress
in support of active transportation in our city.
