Hi.
I am following up on a subject about which I had contacted you earlier: the crosswalk at Johnson and Sydney in SLO.
Since we are through the elections I thought I'd bring it up again.
I want to stress that I do not think it will be enough to put up a new light or sign, but rather that we need some kind of
physical addition to the intersection, such as an island with plants. Ideally I think there should be a pedestrian-only light
like the one at Ferrini and Foothill in SLO. I'd recommend trying to walk across that intersection at busy times of day (like
when elementary kids will be walking to Sinsheimer Elementary). You will see that many drivers do not even blink as they
drive through the crosswalk at full speed. It is an important crossing for a lot of families going to and from school and to
Sinsheimer Park.
