Subject:PC Communication re Morro Shores MHP
Dear Planning Commissioners
I am writing about the application to expand Morro Shores Mobile Home Park.
We have owned our home here for more than 15 years. In that time we have watched and protested as the owners
allowed the two grassy areas in the park deteriorate and become unused eyesores. When we first got here our
grandkids could play soccer, doo somersaults, and just play on the lawn areas. Over the past ten or so years, these areas
have been allowed to go to dirt with dust and weeds. One area now has coarse mulch over it with weeds coming
through, the other is just dirt. Some improvements to these areas have been paid for by the residents (bocce ball court,
improvements to the dog park, etc.) At the same time, the owners have continued to put off repairing driveways and
many are disintegrated to dust.
As you know, these tactics are typical of developers who want to create an eyesore, nuisance place that they can then
"improve" to their financial benefit.
In addition, the plan removes four guest parking spaces that are often full on weekends and if construction or yard
maintenance is going on.
Guests and contractors would have to park in the street if these parking spaces are lost.
I hope the commission will deny this application or at least send it back for revisions, with upkeep of existing spaces a
condition of securing any kind of permit.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
George Pilling and Carol Tuttle-Pilling
