Subject:Supporting Mitchell Park Pickleball courts
Hello City Council members,
I am writing in support of the upcoming proposal to install two permanent pickleball courts at Mitchell Park.
My wife and I have been playing pickleball for 3-4 years now and we are continually seeing new players on the courts.
The pickleball community here in SLO County seems to be growing and having more courts will help satisfy the
increasing demand.
The easy nature of the game makes it very accessible (more so than tennis) and more players can be supported in the
same space. Sixteen pickleball players can be getting fresh air, exercise, and social interaction in the same space that
holds only four tennis players.
We are strongly in favor of this proposal and look forward to playing there soon.
