Adoption of the Active Transportation Plan Greetings Mayor Harmon and Council Members Pease, Christianson, Stewart, and Marx! Bike SLO County is pleased to offer its support for the 2021 Active Transportation Plan (ATP). We feel that this robust document will serve our community as we move forward with our 2035 climate goals and in particular, will support shifting trips in a car to those on a bike or on foot. While this document seeks to address detailed solutions and shifts, we appreciate the latitude staff recommends that will allow this document the resilience it needs in our changing environment. Bike SLO County recognizes the balance now between a well-drafted Active Transportation Plan and funding the projects within it. The next major step will be to implement the Tier 1 Projects listed. Bike SLO County urges Council to dedicate the financial means during the coming ‘21-’23 Budget Cycle to build out a few of these projects. Respectively submitted for your consideration.
