Our neighborhood is extremely busy with multiple condominium and apartment complexes, as well as single family homes. Therefore, parking is already at a premium with an abundance of people residing in a relatively small area. Removing an entire block of parking would be hugely detrimental as street parking is not only used for residents (many of whom are college students sharing housing and families with multiple vehicles), but also for visitors, as well as contractors and landscapers who frequently work in and around our complex. Additionally, we are already unable to park on the only other available street immediately surrounding our complex (around the corner) as it is a designated bike lane along Los Osos Valley Rd. Therefore if we were to also lose parking on Oceanaire Drive, well over a hundred residents, their guests, delivery people, and contractors would lose access to a parking space. Although I am happy to support most expansions of public transit and bike lanes (I used to ride the bus every day to and from work prior to the pandemic), we must be careful about negatively impacting neighborhoods and large populations of residents in our community. Because we already have a housing shortage in the city of SLO, neighborhoods like ours are becoming more densely populated and space (parking or otherwise) is becoming more scarce. So even if it wasn't my neighborhood being affected, I would wholeheartedly support other residents in similar situations and likewise, I would hope they (and you all) would do the same for us. The bike lanes on Madonna Road and Los Osos Valley Road should therefore be more than sufficient, while not disrupting our neighborhoods within this area. Please reconsider and DO NOT remove access to our street parking. Thank you, Eliza Escare ño Windermere resident 1
