The following table is being provided to the City Council and public ascandidate Major City Goal
topic areasfor considerationby the Councilat its public meeting on Saturday February 6, 2021.
Staff is providing these candidate goals based on individual CouncilMemberfeedback to staffto
dateto assist inthe development and adoptionof 2021-23Major City Goals. As much of the input
oncandidategoals receivedby staff reflecteda combination of different topics, we have tried to
conveyinputin the most logical topic area,in some cases capturing what staff perceived as relevant
distinctionsin themesor emphasis within overlapping topicareas. Staff’sreviewofindividual
CouncilMemberpre-work resulted in thefollowing15total goal areasfor public andCouncil
consideration.
In preparation forthe Council’sGoal-Setting Workshop on Saturday, February6, 2021,individual
CouncilMemberswere asked to do some pre-work to prioritize and provide specificlanguage to
stafffor candidate goals. That individual work will be presented to the Council and the public as
awhole as part of the Goal-Setting Workshopand the public will have theopportunity to review
and commentonspecific candidate goal proposals, in advance of the Council making final
determinations on the 2021-023 Major City Goals. A link to a handoutwith each of the Council
Members’candidate goalswill be available to the Council and the public in the meeting chat during
the workshop.TheCouncil and the public will havetime during the first part of the workshop to
review the candidate goals.
