Subject:Tear Gassing Citizens of SLO

Hello,
My name is Maya and I am a student of Cal Poly and SLO resident. I am constantly disappointed in what this city chooses
to prioritize. Left and right I am seeing my neighbors let down by your choices. The use of teargas is considered a war
crime. How can you justify and allow the police force of this city using it on your people? How can you let and watch that
happen?
The city is shouting at you all for help and for change. This city is unjust, inequitable, unfair. I see that everyday when I
see our unhoused neighbors harassed and ticketed for existing. Harassed by the same police force I watched commit
war crimes on citizens peacefully protesting the state-sanctioned murders of Black people in our country. I feel as
though my life and the lives of my neighbors and fellow community members are invaluable to this city based on the
priorities and decisions that are made here.
Thank you for your time.
