My name is Brianna Cervantes, I am a San Luis Obispo county resident and Chumash tribal member.
I believe that the use of tear gas was completely unnecessary. As a community we should be striving for a safe and
welcoming environment for everyone living here, and with that goal that means we should be listening to cries against
injustice, and not meet them with further violence. People would not be protesting if there weren't serious systemic
issues at hand.
Using tear gas, rubber bullets, and dogs against community members is abuse and should not be tolerated.
