Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Parks and Rec Commissioners, I want to thank you and staff for recognizing the need in the Master Plan Update to provide dog parks within the City! Based on what I see every day, we need dog parks now. I live near French and Islay Parks and take my two dogs by these parks regularly. I see lots of happy dogs off leash enjoying playtime whenever I pass through these parks and my fun-loving 3 year old Golden loves to get in on the action. My big concern is that she will sometimes dart out into the street as she is chasing or being chased. I would feel so much better If she was in a large enclosed area to avoid this safety problem. Please find a way to expedite getting a dog park built at either French or Islay Park. I am sure many other parks throughout the City are experiencing the same thing daily, and having a dog park in each of the six subareas is a great idea! Being able to walk my dog to a dog park (instead of driving 10 miles to the El Chorro dog park) would be phenomenal, especially if it can happen before my little 3 year old grows out of her playful spirit. Thank you for this opportunity to comment, Kelly Heffernon Sent from Mail for Windows 10 1
