Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. To Megan Wilbanks A Tree Removal Application has been submitted to remove some trees on my property at 1580 Lizzie Street. Attached are my comments about why I feel the trees need to be removed. I would like all members of the Tree Committee to receive a copy of the attachment as part of nd their packet of information for the March 22 Tree Committee meeting. Please ensure they receive it. Thank you, Steve Nelson 1580 Lizzie Street San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 805-441-7218 1 1580 Lizzie Street Owners’ comments on Tree Removal Request submitted to SLO City Tree Committee for March 22 Meeting Red Gum Eucalyptus • A huge rotted branch fell into our yard recently. Other rotted branches could also fall. • We have watched this tree increasingly leaning towards Lizzie Street. Dozens of people walk daily along the sidewalk. There is significant danger of someone being killed when the tree crashes down on them as they walk to houses up the street and to the t rail going up the mountain. • Danger of causing considerable property damage including cars on street. Blue Gum Eucalyptus • This large tree overshadows lovely native oaks in front of the City owned adobe. • The tree is in an inappropriate location next to the adobe. • The adjacent diseased Red Gum noted above requires a crane for removal as does this Blue Gum. Removing this Blue Gum at the same time would eliminate the need for a crane to come back saving $2500 when it is removed later. We want the return of nati ve oaks, so we would be willing to plant additional 15- gallon native oaks. I would be happy to meet with any Tree Committee members on site. I am likely to be home, so call my cell phone when you are here and I’ll come right out. Steve Nelson Cell: 805-441-7218
