Dear Mayor and Council Members,
I continue to be concerned that the pilot program for nighttime hiking and bike riding is coming before you again. It is
not right to have this discussion without the required and promised wildlife survey to monitor and track species and the
impacts of humans frequenting the Open Space at night.
The staff report indicates the program requires more Ranger and Natural Resources time and attention than is
reasonable for one project/activity.
Please table this discussion until there has been a full wildlife study, as promised. Or even better, vote to discontinue
the program. The Open Space program is primarily for the protection of the natural flora and fauna, not recreation for
humans.
