To the Members of the Planning Commission,
SESLOC is pleased to see the development of the corner of Broad and Tank Farm proceed and are working
collaboratively with Nick Tompkins on shared access and road issues. The plan changes made last Fall
moved the location of the transit center from SESLOC property to the newly developing site, which we
appreciate. However, during the discussion in September on this transit center, issues of safety were
raised based on the design of other transit enclosures nearby that appear to invite congregation. Not only
have there been numerous law enforcement stops at the Marigold site, visible from our offices, but there
was a stabbing at the transit stop in front of Blackhorse Coffee on Broad in November 2020. We would
urge all involved to consider design options that are more open and less structural, while meeting the
seating requirements and consistent with short-term use.
Sincerely,
Geri LaChance
