The purpose of this letter is to go on record expressing my opposition to the subdivision. The property, formerly owned by Dr. Harry Fryer, is an open space frequented by wildlife including quail; turkeys and tree squirrels. It saddens me to think that this open space will be degraded by the construction of additional houses. Serrano Heights has become one of the main access points to San Luis Mountain. There is a steady stream of hikers walking up and down the street. Many of those people park along the side of the street. Things are congested enough without the addition of even more houses to the neighborhood. On a more technical level, I am also voicing my opposition to the developer's request to exempt this project from the Subdivision Regulations requirement of a minimum street frontage of 20 feet. What this request comes down to is a request that the Commission simply ignore this regulation. This strikes me as being highly questionable. Thank you for considering my objections. Sincerely, Dolores Herzog 22
