Mayor Harmon and Council members,
I live and work in SLO and am an active member of the U40 community (ok, ok, I'm technically 40 now!) I live one mile
from Downtown, frequent Downtown establishments and believe a thriving, diverse and eclectic Downtown is the key
to a city's success, as I know you all do too!
I am writing to express my support for the proposed parking fee changes. Your vigilant efforts over the past year have
helped our city survive the pandemic. As we look to recover, changing the parking fees not only has short term budget
effects, but also helps our long-term parking goals. The Palm/Nipomo Parking Structure is an important linchpin in our
future Downtown plans. There are several projects on that end of Downtown that are completely dependent on the
additional parking in order to be built, and to properly operate and survive. I am hopeful that the
increased parking revenue can expedite the parking structure's progress.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this important issue.
