Also, I would like to know why some recipients of the DEI grants were awarded more than they requested. I’m also hoping you can clarify why some of these organizations were awarded tax payer dollars from the city of San Luis Obispo, when they service areas outside of even SLO county. Shouldn’t our tax dollars be spent in SLO? Sincerely, Amanda 1 2020-21 DEI High Impact Grant Recipients Total Budget = $120,000 Total Awarded = $309,800 Requested Approved Organization Program Amount Amount Central Coast Coalition Community Summit -to be held in for Undocumented SLO $6,000 $10,200 Student Success Diversity Coalition San Multicultural Center, planning, Luis Obispo County early operations + Diversity Education &Training in $100,000 $10,000 SLO schools Literary for Ufe General operating funds $10,000 $10,000 One Cool Earth Garden/Health curriculum translated into Spanish-SLCUSD elementary+ $3,200 $3,200 Family Meal Program for English Learners R.A.C.E.
