Dear Human Relations Commission Committee Members,
Literacy for Life is very grateful for your efforts in the preliminary recommendations process for your decision to
recommend $3,750 in grant funds to our organization. Our staff, volunteers, and dedicated board members very much
appreciate your support of our mission to transform the community, empowering individuals by removing barriers to
success and strengthening relationships through the power of literacy. Needless to say the past 14 months have been
challenging for everyone as we navigated the obstacles presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. No question, it’s going to
be an up-hill trajectory as we all make our attempts to re-group.
The $3,750 from the HRC’s Commission’s grant funds will help Literacy for Life in 2021-22. Thank you. If by chance or
fortune there are additional funds in your coffers, please consider increasing our award for fiscal year 2021-22. Thank
you for your commitment to the HRC Commission and the community of San Luis Obispo.
