Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Honorable Mayor and Council, On behalf of the SLO Climate Coalition, I wanted to send you a brief note regarding the 2020 Climate Action Progress Report you will be receiving at this evening's meeting. First, I want to express deep appreciation to staff for their efforts in producing this progress report, but even further for their tireless work and progress advancing our City's Climate Leadership through meaningful high impact actions. I want to be clear that I am speaking not just about Office of Sustainability staff, but staff across your organization, including utilities, facilities, transportation, planning and all others. There is clearly a culture of climate leadership that has been established and is permeating throughout the city and we are appreciative and proud of you all. The progress report clearly demonstrates that over the last few years a strong foundation has been laid. I know you know that there remains much work to be done. We request your continued and ongoing support and leadership infusing climate, equity, and resilience at the intersections of all aspects of the city's normal course of business. We particularly want to highlight the opportunity to center climate leadership in the City's economic recovery and future development activities. We also request that you continue to seek and discover new opportunities to institutionalize climate leadership and develop persistent structures for human and financial resources that both accelerate our efforts and inspire others. Thank you for the update. Eric Eric Veium, CEM, CEP Chair SLO Climate Coalition (805) 835-3669 eric@carbonfreeslo.org 1
