HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-10-2021 JHC Minutes Draft 1 Regular Meeting – Zoom Wednesday, March 10, 2021 CALL TO ORDER: A Regular Meeting of the Jack House Committee was called to order on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 5:36 p.m. via Zoom software, by Chair Chuck Crotser. ROLL CALL: Chair Chuck Crotser, Committee Members: Toni Kincaid, Dorothy Sundbye, Julie Moore, and Chair: Chuck Crotser ARRIVED LATE: Dorothy Sundbye, Toni Kincaid ABSENT: STAFF: Dave Setterlund, Recreation Supervisor CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES AND FINANCIAL REPORTS 1. Review Minutes of the Jack House Committee Meeting of January 13, 2021 and Financial Reports and Expenditures (SETTERLUND) MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER Settle, SECOND BY COMMITTEE MEMBER Moore, AND CARRIED 3:0:0 to approve the Financial Reports and Expenditures for January 2021. AYES: ALL NOTES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: NONE PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION 2. Art Restoration – Steps Required for Accepting Funds (SETTERLUND) Committee Comment: Forward Member Sundbye: Requested information in regard to the City’s insurance policy for the Jack House Member Kincaid: Requested to have Patina Studio’s estimate forward Katchy Andrews as well as staff to extend an invite to Katchy for the next meeting. Chair Crotser: After discussion it was agreed that all art pieces should received restoration option two (2). 3. Jack House Signage Replacement (CROTSER) Committee Comment: Jack House Committee DRAFT - MINUTES 2 Chair Crotser: Continues to work with Nipomo designer for estimate of sign framing. Chair Crotser will receive quote for the work and will report back to committee. 4. Mother’s Day (SETTERLUND) Committee Comment: Chair Crotser: Informed the meeting that he would like to explore the possibility to host the Mother’s Day event if County guidelines permit. Chair Crotser also, expressed interest in a potential partnership with Downtown SLO and/or Chamber COMMENT AND DISCUSSION 6. Agenda Forecast & Staff Updates a. Master Plan Update b. Community Services - Sports Clinics and Events c. Youth Services – In person learning d. Rangers – Supporting encampment clean-up e. Staff preparing for red tier programing - Committee Comment: Member Moore: Expressed that the History Center has hosted successful virtual events Vice Chair: Cautioned Committee Members about hosting group events such as Mother’s Day. Member Sundbye: Declared she was happy to go through the discussion process with Artwork. Member Kincaid: Reminded staff about potential Rotary Club volunteer opportunity Chair Crotser: Thanked Member Kincaid and Jack family member Katchy Andrews for assisting with the restoration project. Chair Crotser articulated his appreciation for the History Center virtual programing as well. No comments due to technical issues. ADJOURNMENT The next Regular Meeting of the Jack House Committee is scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 5:30 p.m., in the Parks and Recreation Conference Room, 1341 Nipomo Street, San Luis Obispo, California.
