F.S. Provide 5-Year Certification - Scope. This document establishes
the minimum requirements for periodic inspection, testing, and
maintenance of water based fire protection systems, including
land-based and marine applications.
YES Provide 5 year fire sprinkler report when due at end of this calendar
year.
F.S. Reduce Storage 18" Below Heads - Ceiling clearance. Storage
shall be maintained a minimum of 18 inches below sprinkler head
deflectors in sprinklered areas of the building.
NO Maintain clearance of 18" below fire sprinklers - location was closet
behind barbershop as well as basement file room.
F.A. Annual Test Record Required - Testing frequency. Unless
otherwise permitted by other sections of this Code, testing shall be
performed in accordance with with the schedules in Table 14.4.5 or
more often if required by the authority having jurisdiction.
NO Provide a copy of the annual fire alarm report.
E. Provide/Repair Illum Exit Signs w Back-Up Power - Internally
illuminated exit signs. Electrically powered, self luminous and
photoluminescent exit signs shall be listed and labelled in accordance
with UL 924 and shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and Chapter 27 of the California Building
Code. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times.
NO Thai Palace water heater area - emergency lights need to be
repaired/replaced.
E. Remove Storage/Obstructions to Aisles/Exit - General. The
required width of aisles shall be unobstructed.
NO Remove wheelchair from emergency exit pathway and maintain area
outside of Apartment 209 free of obstructions, no exceptions.
Immediate hazard to be corrected today.
EL. Remove/Provide Approved Ext. Cord/Multiplug - Power supply.
Extension cords shall be plugged directly into an approved receptacle,
power tap, or multi plug adaptor and, except for approved multiplug
extension cords, shall serve only one portable appliance.
NO Plug microwave oven directly into an outlet - location is in Veterans
Office.
S.H. Repair/Maintain Fire Rated Wall/Ceiling/Door - Maintenance. The
required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction
(including walls, firestops, shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers,
floors, fire resistive coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials
applied to structural members and fire resistant joint systems) shall be
maintained.
NO Ceiling cover in storage closet next to barber shop. Basement also
has several areas needing fire resistant caulk. Check remainder of
structure for compliance.

S.H. Seismic Strapping/Maint./Repair Waterheaters - Protection from
seismic damage. Water heaters shall be anchored or strapped to
resist horizontal displacement due to earthquake motion. Strapping
shall be at points within the upper one third and lower one third of its
vertical dimensions. At the lower point, a minimum distance of 4
inches shall be maintained above the controls with the strapping.
NO Water heaters on each floor need seismic strapping.
