To the SLO City Council
We are very pleased by your decision to continue to allow restaurants to have parklets
so people can enjoy eating out 'European style', We also think it is a good idea to close
some streets to allow people to enjoy being in town without the hazard and noise of
zooming cars. If restaurants in town are encouraged to have parklets, they will probably
invest more money to have their space more attractive and permanent.
We are both disappointed that the Mission Plaza has been encumbered with so much plastic
decorations and big metal scaffolding that takes away from the Historic setting of the Mission.
The Mission Plaza is the focal point of the town and should be respected and enjoyed without
the tacky decorations. More attention should be given to beautifying and cleaning up along the
creek ...such a lovely place for tourists as well as locals to enjoy the natural beauty.
We think that adding a few tables with parasols is a friendly touch and is a good way to welcome people who want to
enjoy the plaza.
We have enjoyed living in downtown SLO for three years and are so impressed with the beauty
of the town with its beautiful lush and flowering trees.
