I am a law abiding, tax paying citizen as well as a property owner who invests in this community. I have lived in this community raising my family since June 1993 and have been a homeowner since 1997. I am appalled at the leniency the city officials have had with the political organization Black Lives Matter BLM) and all protests in our city/county. This organization does not represent the vast majority of citizens in this city. I have thoroughly reviewed their website and their strategies, and I resolutely reject what they stand. Being a simple person who loves everyone no matter what the color of their skin or who they are or what defeat they have; I do not see any kindness coming from this group. Life is hard enough without the hate mongering going on by this group. In fact, they are adding to the difficulty of life since the covid virus. This latest protest on July 21 which had this group on our freeway and destroying a vehicle with a child in it is outrageous. In the past couple months, I have also heard many times helicopter/plane flying around the city because this group is marching around. They have no right to disturb the peace of our community with their threat of possible violence and costing our city budget and law enforcement all the maintenance to follow them around. Why are our city officials allowing any group to protest by marching through town? If Mitchell Park was the protest location, why aren't they sequestered to the park. Why are we being subjected to their threat of violence. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I were driving to visit my ailing father who has Parkinson's disease. We were driving on Santa Rosa heading downtown from Foothill and a huge mob of angry screaming BLM protesters were walking down the other side of Santa Rose in the middle of the road in the opposite direction next to us!!! It was horrible. I was shaking with shock when I arrived to visit my father. I beg you, please consider the wellbeing of all your citizens in this city and put a stop to this. We should have a voice too. Allowing this group to disrespectfully usurp the city is not prudent, we would like to feel like you care about us too. qai ect, otte 269 Los Cerros Drive San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 805.540.8758 S-CEIVED JUL 27 SLO CITY CLERK S34-:_;'i-324S NTA BARA 4MA CA 93'11. 111 11111ifilli winterberry
