HomeMy WebLinkAbout8/24/2021 Item 6a, LukesDelgado, Adriana From: Sent: Friday, August 13, 2021 9:23 AM To: E-mail Council Website Subject: Parking sevices 0 Addressing the proposed changes to the residential parking permit allocations. 1. Allowing multifamily units, where only two on street parking spots are available and the property has three units would mean a total of six (or more if #3 is implemented) would overwhelm the parking situation. City code should require developers to provide adequate off street parking for residents in there development plan. 2. This would be good as long as there is only enough issued per available on street parking at the address. Including alphabet additions, IE. If the Garage was converted to studio apartment and two on street spaces are available this address would still be limited to two permits. 3. Absolutely not! Three times the number of spaces. So if my neighborhood has one hundred available spaces we could potentially see three hundred permits issued, this is totally absurd. The whole purpose of the parking permits is to keep neighborhoods from being overrun by student rentals units with multiple occupants with multiple cars and not enough parking. Home owners would not have any where to park at their own house. In my humble opinion, if you think what is being proposed is a good idea you should just eliminate the parking permit program for it would no longer be providing it's function. Patrick T Lukes
