Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Several years ago our Park View neighborhood gathered together to ask the city to form a parking district for us. We were tired of not being able to park near our homes and the fact that it was becoming more of a student neighborhood meant quality of life was decreasing. The parking district was a complete success. Now you are asking that absentee home owners be released of their responsibilities by having occupants request permits. It may seem a small ask, but student landlords in our area are remiss in yard care, student occupancy and noise, so why give them a complete pass. Add to this increasing the number of permits would take us back to the initial parking problems. We have five students next door, four across the street and that is just two of many rentals on Del Norte Way. Many of our students drive large SUV or truck type vehicles. The letter from the parking services says they would like to issue up to but not exceeding three times the on street available parking. If you agree with staff then I certainly hope you make every effort to make sure you offer a well advertised analysis and discussion for the neighbors of Park View who are not absentee home owners. Sincerely, Lyle and Mendi Stubson, residents of Del Norte Way for 49 years. Sent from my iPad
