I am the owner of EDNA Contemporary Art Gallery located at 583 Dana Street in The Soda Water Works on the corner of
Dana and Nipomo Streets. Recently all parking on the Dana side was taken away and designated for Residential Parking
only. We relied on the Dana Street parking for many years and request the City Council revise the Municipal Code
allowing Commercial users to purchase under utilized residential parking permits in the neighborhood. Here are two
photographs taken Monday, August 2 of Dana Street at 1pm. The residents are not using the street at all during the day.
The parking spots in front of the commercial properties are mostly vacant and would be fully utilized by the tenants in
our complex if we were allowed to purchase those permits. It is a detriment to our businesses.
Thank you,
Sheryl Dane Chesnut
