Mobile Food Preparation Vehicle Inspection
All items must be completed prior to permit issuance. Please initial and sign below when completed:
1. Permit Requirements:
A Mobile food Preparation Vehicle Permit application has been obtained and submitted for review to the San Luis Obispo City Fire
Department (SLOFD) priorto requesting an inspection (CFC 105.1,105.6.30). Permit applications may be obtained at the SLOFD website:

2. Emergency Access: ''
A minimum 20 ft. fire lane must be maintained at all times (CFC 503.2). Mobile Food Preparation Vehicles a dinfi lanei
will be removed immediately. r
J Mobile Food Preparation Vehicles shall maintain unobstructed access at all times to fire hydrants (CFC 507.5.4). Vehicles left
unattended and found obstructing access to fire hydrants will be subject to citation, and or towing (CVC 22514).
3. Gen 'al Cooking Requirements:
All Mobile Food Preparation Vehicles utilizing either LPG/Propane and or open flame devices of any kind shall have at least one 51b
operable 2A:10BC rated fire extinguisher, placed in a visible location near to the exit (CFC 319.4.2, 906.4).
When deep fat fryers are used for cooking operations, they shall be commercially listed appliances with a nearby 1 % gallon Type "K" fire
xtinguisher (CFC 319.4.2, 906.4).
Cammercial exhaust hood and grease filters are being maintained in an operable condition, free of grease accumulation (CFC
ou 7)
All Booking equipment producing grease laden vapors are properly installed under a commercially listed exhaust hood with an
awroved automatic fire extinguishing system designed to properly protect commercial cooking appliances (CFC 318.3, 318.4, 904.12).
Lb The automatic fire extinguishing system has been properly serviced within the past six months. A copy of the inspection record has been

to the local authority having jurisdiction for review prior to inspection (CFC 904.12.5).
LPG (gas powered) cooking appliances have been secured in place, and the fuel supply piping has been connected to corresponding
Ipliances in accordance with the manufactures' instructions (CFC 319.5, 319.8).
Lti Hot ashes, smoldering coals, oily materials, or other sources of ignition shall not be deposited into combustible waste containers at the
nd of an event. Materials may be discarded in an approved metal container post event (CFC 305.2).
LI All open -flame devices shall have adequate clearance from combustible materials, such as decorations to prevent the spread of fire (CFC
305.1).
Cooking and heating equipment shall be guarded to prevent accidental contact by persons or materials. Cooking areas shall not be
ccessible by the public (CFC). 01/acooking oils within mobile food preparation vehicles shall be stored in secured containers or approved storage tanks installed in
accordance with the tank manufacturer's instructions (CFC 319.6, 319.7).
4. Port le Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) & Propane Cylinders:
Portable cylinders must be U.L. listed with a total storage capacity which does not exceed 200 lbs. All cylinders have been
securely mounted on vehicle and properly restrained to prevent movement (CFC 319.8, 6103.2.1.7).
t No "homemade" manifolds or similar type heating devices are allowed. All connections and fittings should be tested utilizing a
soap/water solution by the business owner prior to conducting cooking operations.
5. General Electrical Safety:
Extension cords and other sources of temporary wiring shall be maintained in good working condition, without splices,
terioration or damage and shall be properly grounded/listed for outdoor use (CFC 604.5.3).
J Extension cords shall only be used with portable appliances. Check with the special event sponsor to ensure that your electrical
wiring has been inspected prior to event (CFC 604.5).
E ectrical motors shall be maintained in a condition free from accumulation of excessive oil, dirt, waste, or debris (CFC 604.8).
lid Portable power strips shall be plugged directly into an approved power supply. Power strips shall be of the polarized, grounded
type and equipped with proper overcurrent protection (CFC 604.4).
