Lea Brooks San Luis Obispo Hi all: I have ridden the multiuse path on the north side of Madonna Road between Oceanaire and the entrance to the Madonna Inn a couple of times to try it out and have a question for staff on whether the expectation is to push the pedestrian button to turn left onto Madonna or to wait in the left turn lane to trigger the signal that needs the presence of a motor vehicle to change. This morning, I tried the left turn lane and failed to trigger the signal on my bike. After waiting for a couple of signal cycles, I rode over to the pedestrian button and pushed it. Then a motorist showed up and I maneuvered behind the car. I think the signal turned green because of the vehicle and not the pedestrian button. Heading eastbound on the pathway, it's awkward to maneuver from the east terminus of the pathway at the Madonna Inn entrance to the left turn lane, but I much prefer it over the pedestrian button if the signal would trigger for bicyclists in the absence of a motor vehicle. Thanks. Lea Brooks 1 W;7 wil , f A s ,, 1 -- —
