Dear ATC members,
I would like to request that Lincoln and West streets in pavement area 7 have some speed mitigations added during the
2022 resealing efforts. Lincoln, West and several side streets have families with young kids along this stretch, including
my family.
We experience a lot of by pass traffic from Chorro. It's also just easy to forget how fast you are going on a wide open
street with no stop signs. I hold my breath every time I see a kid run or bike into the street.
Through simple features installed during paving/resealing we could make these streets feel more slow-residential and
demand more attention from people in cars. I know the City has a lot of tools to work with to achieve traffic calming.
I would be particularly interested in seeing:
Corner bulbouts
Traffic circles and or chicanes
Something at Anholm Park
Possibly a closure to through car traffic
Many of the families and residents along this corridor would greatly appreciate making these streets more kid and
people friendly. We talk about it all the time! We hope that you include some traffic and speed mitigation measures to
this area as part of the 2022 resealing efforts.
