I write today to reconiniend Michelle Shoresnian to fill a vacancy on the San L.UiS Obispo City Council
should a seat becorne available following the appointment of. , a new Mayor, Ms. Shoresinan would
It,
bring a wealth of talent to the position based on her h1e and work experience as noted below:
She has served in a leadership role working tirelessly on our behalf as a county public employee
to protect our community throughout the Covid pandenuc.
She ably represents the community in making sornefirries consequential choices as a member of
the City's Planning Commission and thereby understands the irriportance and consequences of
land use decisions that impact Lis all.
• She has been selected by tier peers to serve as a member of the County's Pension Trust Board
Nvith the responsibility to oversee the retireinei3t savings of thousands ofcurrent and past
employees. The fund's annual income is in the $90N/l range,
She is an active organizer and Supporter of multiple causes that are important to her, her fancily
and her community.
She is both a public servant and a believer in the i nipoila rice! of public service.
Perhaps though the most important qualities that she possesses are that she is friendly, open and an
approachable person who listens thOLIghtfUlly and absorbs the suggestions and recommendations of
others. She engenders Mist among those that meet and come to know her.
As a [bri-ner elected official Board of Supervisors, Solano COL111ty'l, I like to think that I have a good
sense of what makes, an outstanding elected leader. Michelle Shoresnian checks all the boxes. She is
smart, always prepared, brings leadership experience, is approachable, authentic and generous of spirit.
You will not find a better candidate and I urge you t(a) appoint her, should a vacancy happen.
