Honorable Members of the City Council:
I recommend the City Council choose Mila La Barre for the City Council opening. Her voice has been heard for
many years on many matters the City Council discusses and votes upon. Mila has consistently, undiscouraged by
disappointment in outcomes, expressed her studied views on diverse issues, always faithful to the environment
and our resources. She has brought mature judgment to her views, and expressed them in a gracious and
respectful manner. Her experience with youth from her many years of teaching at the Middle School, and her
interactions with the parents and colleagues, give her a wide and inclusive understanding of the Community.
Her Spanish linguistic and cultural skills would bring a much needed representation to the Council. Were she to
be chosen to fill the seat the Council would be enriched by her qualities and competence.
Thank you for your consideration of Mila La Barre. May your votes tonight both for the Mayor and the City
Council secure valued new representatives of San Luis Obispo for the well beng of the diverse Community
served by them.
