I understand that several locations are under consideration including Sinsheimer Park, Laguna Lake, and along the Bob Jones Trail. I highly support development of a pump track at either Sinsheimer or Laguna Lake. Both of these sites are well located in proximity to schools and housing and offer access via bike facilities that would support access by kids on their own bikes, rather than only being dropped off in a car with their bike. I do not support a pump track along the Bob Jones Trail off of South Higuera because it is isolated and access by bike on S. Higuera is downright dangerous. I ride this as a daily commuter to my place of work and have had far too many experiences including close calls with high speed vehicles, semi trucks with trailers, and distracted drivers. If you locate it there, many parents will not feel comfortable allowing their kids to travel by bike. The isolated location may have other drawbacks that could result in underuse of the park. Thank you for moving this exciting project forward. Kids (and big kids) in SLO will benefit greatly from a City facility that offers a healthy outdoor activity where people can meet up with friends after school, during summers, and on weekends. Best, Melanie Mills SLO 1
