Re: Oct. 5 City Council Agenda, Item 6: Appointment to Fill Council Vacancy
I respectfully request that you appoint Michelle Shoresman to fill the vacancy on City Council if Acting
Mayor Stewart is appointed mayor, which I also support.
Michelle is a proven leader and hard worker with management and fiscal experience that will enable
her to quickly come up to speed on city issues. Her responsibilities at the County Health Agency,
including as a member of the Covid pandemic response team, underscore her dedication to public
health and ability to respond to emergencies that impact public safety. Michelle’s desire to serve on
the Planning Commission shows her interest in affordable housing and a built environment that
includes transportation choices for people of all ages and abilities who bicycle and walk.
Michelle is an excellent choice to fill the vacancy and is ready to fulfill the responsibilities of a council
member based on experience and knowledge of local government.
