Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Vice Mayor Stewart and Members of the Council, If your deliberations regarding appointment of a mayor results in a vacant council seat, I highly recommend you appoint Mila Vujovich-La Barre to fill that seat. I knew of Mila from her appearances at City Council, the Planning Commission and other commissions and committees. But I did not really know Mila until I served on the 3-year Land Use and Circulation Elements Task Force. Mila was one of a very few residents who understood the importance of these documents, did her reading and research, and provided input to the Task Force. Subsequently I learned how active and knowledgeable about City government and about our community she really was - and is. Mila has experience speaking with all races and all age groups. As a teacher, she is involved with our youth, their parents and her co-workers, and understands their concerns. As a daughter she understands the aging process and the problems that can bring. Being bi-lingual she easily interacts with the Spanish- speaking members of our community. As a long-time environmentalist she actively pursues remedies to those things that negatively affect the environment. Mila has also operated a small business and, thus, understands the problems faced by many small business owners. Most of all she loves the city and the people in it. Mila would not need time to learn about city government and how it works; she already knows. Mila would be the best qualified addition to the City Council. Thank you for your consideration.
