Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. ________________________________ Dear Parks and Rec Commission, I would like to encourage the Parks and Rec department to prioritize adding a pump track at Laguna Lake, with Sinshimer being my second preferred location. These two parks have been identified in the recently approved Parks and Rec blueprint for 2021-2024. Both parks have lots of space and dirt to accomodate a pump track and would be in good proximity to existing trails and school routes so that kids would have a fun after school activity to do on their bike ride home. These locations are also able to be accessed via safe bike infrastructure such as the new Madonna cycle track and Railroad Safety Trail. The addition of a designated pump track would help to create a safe an official place for riders to build skills which in turn would help to make our trails safer and reduce the creation of illegal bike jumps in our city. I would like to discourage adding a track along the Bob Jones Trail segment off S. Higuera. This is a rather poor place to put the pump track since there is currently no low stress access to the trail and no parking either. I strongly feel that time and resources should be focused on the locations that have low stress bikeway connectivity and are along school routes. Thank you, -- Liz Schteiden Sent from my iPhone 1
