Not only could it serve to replace some lost community assets like the bumps behind Costco, but it could be upcycled into the kind of facility that would place San Luis Obispo on the proverbial map for cities with well iterated, and high utility bike parks. I am an Olympic cyclist ('96, Atlanta) who grew up right here, dreaming my bicycle dreams. I can't even imagine how helpful it would have been to have a bike park to sharpen my skills as I was coming up through the sport. I am presently working with a group that possesses a velodrome, and is willing to literally give it away if we can offer a reasonable plan and land to place it. This represents an outsized opportunity for this community as well as its aspiring sporting youth. As the discussion unfurls, I look forward to walking out how we can plausibly do this, and deliver an amazing asset to the Central Coast cycling community. Respectfully, Adam Laurent 1
