Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. ________________________________ Dear Mayor & City Council, I am a customer of Natural Healing Center and a resident of San Luis Obispo County. I am also a voter and a taxpayer. I am VERY opposed to the City of SLO shutting down NHC’s dispensary before they even have the chance to open. You have no right to damage these peoples lives and put them into debt because you have moral objections to their business. NHC’s reputation for having the best dispensaries and the friendliest and educated budtenders are well known throughout SLO County. Their new store in the City of SLO was going to be their best store yet, and the City’s decision to shut them down is going to hurt not just the city, but also the residents of the city. Your staff’s decision will hurt a lot of innocent hardworking people who work for this great company. That is just WRONG! Please do not let that happen. If you can give even ONE good reason for this unjust decision I would be greatly surprised. The decision to shut down NHC’s operation is unfair and extreme. I urge you to overturn this decision at your next city council meeting on October 19th. Allowing NHC to open its new store, the city will receive substantial tax dollars, local organizations and charities will receive substantial donations, NHC employees will give back to the community through hours of volunteer time. In other words, everyone wins if NHC opens its store. If you decide not to reverse your staff’s decision, and NHC is forced to shut down, everyone loses. The city loses tax dollars, the company loses its entire investment, the community loses what it stood to gain from a successful business opening, but maybe more important than all of that, local families lose by losing the jobs they depend on. Please do not allow that to happen. You must NOT ALLOW the people that you are paid to serve to suffer because of selfish decisions made by those who don't care about us. I urge you to do the right thing on October 19th by voting to reverse the decision made by the city. Please vote to allow NHC to open its new store. Sincerely, Jacob Southard and the free people of San Luis Obispo
