Dear Honorable Mayor and City Council: We are writing you today to urge you to please listen to us, NHC employees, who are also residents of SLO County, including the City of SLO. With
hundreds of jobs and an equal number of families that depend on NHC obtaining its permit in SLO, we implore you to reconsider the brash decision by your staff to revoke, not only NHCs
opportunities but the opportunities for all of us that work for this great company. Many of us have worked for years gaining our experience, our knowledge, and our connections to the
patients and customers we serve in SLO County. Many of us have worked for years to obtain leadership roles at NHC. Together we comprise a young, dynamic group of hardworking, taxpaying
citizens who would not have had these kinds of opportunities were it not for this business. Many of us have struggled our entire lives seeking economic stability in one of the most
expensive places to live in California. The employment opportunities that are available on the Central Coast do not provide most families a chance to become self-reliant or enjoy financial
stability for themselves and their families on a wage that can be described as livable. We have worked tirelessly educating ourselves, dedicating our time to become leaders in this
new and emerging industry. How we have learned to interact and connect with our customers and patients by recommending the most appropriate products has made us not only trusted but
trendsetters in our industry. For the city to turn back the clock and effectively put many of us at square one, looking for new jobs, with a new company, will not only be detrimental
to ourselves, but it will be a detriment to the community. NHCs business model is second to none. We’ve earned the opportunity to continue pushing forward and delivering everything
we have promised to this City and to the community. We look forward to speaking to you face-to-face and bringing our collective perspectives, and those of our families, and our customers,
by explaining how this decision will negatively affect us all. It is our sincere hope that as wise, progressive, and compassionate leaders of this City you will make the right decision
for this community. We believe that decision is to allow NHC to begin its operations as the company has spent years planning for while making tremendous sacrifices to bring this business
to fruition. Sincerely,
Thanks so much,
